make an ‘ark’ which could be sat on to foster conversations and talking… focussing on the different languages of asylum seekers… the new country often acts as an ‘ark’ of safety,.. could be adapted to reference scandinavianm longboats. the installation is almost split in half so an interior is made to walk through. The installation records the conversations from the outside and plays the, backwards/jumbled to emphasise the difficulties in comminucation when arriving in a new place. so kind of fun positive visual image with something more political inside.
